Tic Toc

Tic Toc

As we work on the final details of the second Hawk and Hummingbird book: The Hawk and the Hummingbird and the Clock, I was reminded of this poem I wrote back in 2008. Let me know in the comments what you think.

tic toc, tic toc, tic toc

restless sand slipping through idle fingers

tic toc, tic toc, tic toc

rivers of time meandering past endless shores

tic toc, tic toc, tic toc

continuous cycles of setting suns and moons

tic toc, tic toc, tic toc

torrential tides constant in ebb and flow

tic toc, tic toc, tic toc

fleeting moments fading from memory, tic

names and faces disappearing from view, toc

tic
