Sneak Peek!

The Hawk and the Hummingbird And the Treasure

I get excited every time my illustrator, Helena, sends a new sketch for my upcoming book. She amazes me with her talent and creativity!

Here is an excerpt from the third book in The Hawk and the Hummingbird series, The Treasure.

One foggy morning, a soft breeze glided across the island. It gently rustled the leaves. It rocked the limbs of a maple tree. Fixed to a downturned limb was your average hummingbird nest. And inside the neat and comfortable nest slept a tiny bird. He was dreaming. He dreamed of beautiful garden flowers of all colors. He dreamed of clear blue skies. He dreamed of warm days.

The soft, salty breeze came through the nest. As it did, the tiny bird stretched his little wings. He drew in a deep breath. In the distance was the bay. It surrounded the little island. And in the bay, a bell buoy gonged its morning song.
